Capital Country Holiday Park

Capital Country Holiday Park is a short drive from the centre of Canberra and offers a tranquil getaway amongst 15-hectares of lakes and gardens synonymous with the region.  

An ideal location from which to explore Canberra’s main attractions, highlights of the park include an outdoor swimming pool, a synthetic grass tennis court and popular mini-golf course. Long rated one of the ACT’s leading holiday parks, it provides a safe, spacious environment and an extensive range of indoor and outdoor activities. It also offers a wide range of in-park facilities suitable for every member of the family. 

Kids love the Putt Putt golf course and resort-style swimming pool. A large fire pit provides a great spot to meet other campers as does the lake deck and open-air BBQ area which are available to all guests. The tennis and volleyball courts are a much-loved facility for families with small children and older kids with energy to burn. There is also basketball ring. 

Because of the parks proximity to Canberra International Airport, the Conference Centre is popular and features the latest audio-visual equipment, as well as a commercial kitchen. The shared amenity blocks are well-maintained and modern, and guests who stay in any of the spacious villas or lodge accommodation enjoy access to all the park’s facilities including a large laundry and shared amenity block. 

There is free WiFi in all public areas, a range of villas and cabins are available and each one features reverse-cycle air-conditioning. Kitchens in the villas and bungalows include a full kitchen with cooktop, microwave, fridge, and all utensils. The ensuite bathrooms include private shower and toilet, and most cabins have their own veranda with outdoor furniture and views of the lake. There are multiple quiet social spaces to relax in within the park. 

Group Lodge Facilities can accommodate groups of up to 60 people and have become popular with schools visiting Canberra’s Parliament House and the nearby War Memorial on Anzac Parade. There are no cooking facilities in these lodges, which include 12 individual dorms, but the nearby camp kitchen is available. Each of these dorm rooms has its own ensuite, bar fridge, TV, and reverse-cycle air-conditioning. There is also an undercover eating/meeting area. 

School Group Cabins can sleep up to 12 and feature two bedrooms with three double bunks. There is also split system reverse-cycle air-conditioning, a bar fridge, TV, two lounges and two separate toilets and showers.  

An iron, ironing board and hairdryer can be made available on request. Pets are welcome on the parks caravan sites and in selected cabins only. 

Nearby attractions include Australia’s Parliament House, Canberra’s burgeoning bar and dining scene, and the National Museum of Australia. Staff are more than happy to arrange private tours of any of these attractions and will be pleased to recommend the best places in Canberra to eat and drink!
